Idea
Fear is something that lies within each and every single one of us. Something that pulls us away from being who we actually are, from things we are passionate about. What will society say? What will my parents think about this? Can I pull this off? Am I right about this? These are the questions that come to our mind from 'fear.' These questions often never let a person express their true self. As a result, their passion and true selves die within them.
However, on a different note, if one person can overcome that fear, they can create wonders. Something so unique and beautiful that no one has ever experienced before. One just needs to be "fearless" enough to overcome that insecurity before it is too late.
Visualization
The entire video art will be seven multiscreen videos playing at once. And this video will be based on a kathak dancer from two different situations-
Ø What happens when fear wins over passion
Ø What happens when she can overcome that fear of her passion(dancing)
So, for the multiscreen videos, there will be seven shots playing at the same time. These shots are described below-
Shot-1
There will be a shot of a clock ticking. Moreover, the ticking sound will be prominent because the dancer will be dancing along with the clock's rhythm. Furthermore, there will be a subtle sound of tanpura.
Message 1: one must overcome their fear before it is too late
Message 2: time will change eventually for every person.
Shot-2
Focused on her feet only, she is doing tatkar (footwork of the kathak dance) along with the rhythm of the clock ticking.
Message 1: she is confident about her passion.
Message 2: she is dancing along with the time, being fearless.
Shot-3
This will be a shot of the sole of the foot but injured with multiple cuts marks and dried blood. The feet will be shaking slightly. The screen will be on the opposite of shot 2.
Message 1: She is in pain. Her feet are worthless to her as she cannot dance with them.
Message 2: she is so passionate about her dream that it is worth it for her to endure all that pain.
Shot-4
This will be taken from her backside—dancing, focusing on her upper body gestures.
Message 1: She is fearless and ready to face anything that comes between her and her passion.
Message 2: Portraying empowerment.
Shot-5
This will be on the opposite of shot 4. The exact angle as shot 4 but this time, she will have a black fabric wrapped around her head. She is shaking and rocking back and forth.
Message 1: she is anxious and frustrated.
Message 2: she is not able to fight for what she wants. As a result, she is dying on the inside.
Shot-6
A close shot of her hands doing mudras (Hand gestures of Indian classical dance form). The hands are in front of her face, but the face is out of focus.
Message 1: the beauty and elegance of her passion.
Message 2: She is trying to express her feelings. As if she is talking to everyone but with her movements.
Shot-7
This will be on the opposite of shot 6. A side shot of her hand hanging down from her couch or bed in pain and blood dripping down her hands; she is breathing heavily.
Message 1: she gave up.
Message 2: nothing is worthy of her anymore. She could not make use of the opportunity she got, and as a result, giving up was her only option.
